Construction updates (almost) as they happen!
For the week of April 20th.
Preparatory work continues on the school wing to enable it to house the Temple’s offices and activities during Renewal Phase 1 construction. Here are the details:
In the past two weeks we have seen significant progress in constructing the temporary offices for Temple clergy, our Religious School and our Early Childhood Centre on the second and third floors. The majority of the drywall and partition work has been completed and walls have been taped and sanded and are awaiting painting. One office has been painted with the rest to follow shortly. Demolition continues in the lower-level kitchen area and the new elevator pit will begin to become recognizable very soon.
Over the next couple of weeks, work will take place in the foyer of the Boardroom as new doors will be installed providing access to the school wing from the Ava Rd. parking lot. Also, work will soon begin in the washroom area on the lower level as the large, men’s washroom is converted into two smaller temporary ones, and a new entrance is built into the Philip Smith hall from the north side.
Of course, we invite you to come and check out our progress at your convenience, although we remind you certain areas within Temple are contained construction zones. We appreciate your patience and flexibility during the construction process as we try our best to keep disruption to a minimum. However, if you’re not able to visit in person, we keep a lovely photographic (and video) record of all Renewal construction on the website (click here) and on our Holy Blossom Temple Facebook page. Please feel free to drop by for a virtual visit at any time!
