Renewal Project Updates (almost as they happen)

In the upcoming June print edition of our Holy Blossom Bulletin, Bob Charendoff writes a lovely piece about taking a guided tour of our construction site. In it, Bob reminisces about all that was old and familiar to him, imagines what our new campus will become and reflects on the hard work and spirit of community that has brought us to this important place in time. Be sure to give it a read when it arrives in your mailbox shortly.

As you know from our last update, we’ve reached the point where demolition and excavation is almost complete and we’re about to build back up. In the coming months you’ll see our vibrant new campus physically taking shape at 1950 Bathurst St. So we thought, what better time to give every congregant the chance to take the same kind of tour Bob took – via video this time – looking back at all the old spaces, with a first-hand account of what they’ll become.

Providing that first-hand account, and acting as our video tour guide, will be Cary Solomon, Chair of our Renewal Project Building Committee. Cary knows the site inside and out, up and down, front to back – so who better to give us a sense of all the exciting elements of Phase 1 of the Project: our light-filled and transformative Central Atrium, brand new Family Chapel, Café, Youth Lounge, Judaica Shop, Library, all in a LEED Silver Certified, environmentally-friendly building.

We’re shooting the video tour this coming Wednesday and we’ll edit it immediately and provide a link in our very next Life at Holy Blossom eBlast.
