Learning From Arnold Jacob Wolf

The late Rabbi Arnold Jacob Wolf (1924—2008) was one of the leading liberal rabbis for the late twentieth century. He was a contrarian through and through, rough around the edges, gentle, loving and passionate to his core. He didn’t suffer fools, thought deeply, read widely, and put together Jewish thought and Jewish action as have few figures in our time. And while Arnie Wolf was a Reform Rabbi, he was hardly confined to the often parochial ways of his (or any) movement. He thought differently from the rest of us — and almost always better.
