Announcement from the Schwartz/Reisman Centre for Jewish Learning at Holy Blossom Temple
We are pleased to announce the formation of
THE HOLY BLOSSOM CENTRE FOR CONTEMPORARY JEWISH LITERATURE
Under the chair of Cynthia Good, this Centre will bring the finest to Holy Blossom Temple.
The Centre is a program for those who are truly committed to reading the best of Jewish literature, expressing themselves through the written word and exploring new formats, media and academic thinking around narrative and literature.
For Readers
We will offer book clubs that encourage social reading and discussion, and classes led by experts in a wide variety of genres, themes and formats.
For Writers
For every level of writing ability we will present workshops and master classes to help self-expression through writing. We will bring in well-known writers as mentors and develop some international partnerships.
For Thinkers
We will bring speakers to enrich us and entertain us. We will feature panels, interviews, readings and presentations on literature and its relationship to other media. Academics will share their research and everyone will encourage participation and collaboration.
[green_message] Our first program is Alison Pick’s Book Talk, Between Gods, which took place on Monday February 9th. Our second program will be with Writer in Residence, Evan Fallenberg, March 26 & 29-29, 2015. For more information, please click here. [/green_message]
