An evening with renowned Canadian author Joseph Boyden

On Monday, March 30th at 7:30 p.m. Joseph Boyden, author, First nations advocate, will speak at Temple Emanu-El through the auspices of the CCRJ and URJ Canada. As a community we have embraced the importance of the plight of the First Nations community and ask that you give your support to this important evening.

Hosted by Temple Emanu-El 120 Old Colony Road, Toronto
In partnership with Holy Blossom Temple and Temple Sinai 
Joseph Boyden’s first novel, Three Day Road won the Amazon/Books in Canada First Novel Award and the Rogers Writers’ Trust Fiction Prize.  His second novel, Through Black Spruce, won the 2008 Scotiabank Giller Prize. And his third book, The Orenda was named the winner of the 2014 edition of Canada Reads. Boyden grew up in Willowdale and is of Irish, Scottish and Anishinaabe heritage.  He writes about First Nations heritage and culture.
There is no charge for this event.  Donations will be accepted at the door
 in support of Camp Onakawana, a camp for First Nations youth in northern Ontario, a project close to Joseph Boyden’s heart.
