All Family Learning Shabbat: Sacred Texts of Our Tradition
All of our families with children JK-grade 6 are invited to join us for this special Family Learning Shabbat on November 16th.
The learning starts at 9:00 a.m., and is directly followed by family service at 10:30 a.m.
In total we are having six shabbatot when our day school and religious school families have time to learn together and meet each other.
There will be a section of the program for family learning, and a section for children to learn with our teachers while parents learn with Rabbi Helfman.
As is the custom during our family services, while the Torah and Haftarah are read all of our students who have not yet become b’nei mitzvah will have the opportunity to sing and move around with our master teachers as they learn about the weekly parasha.
The focus of this Shabbat will be the Sacred Texts of our Tradition. Students will learn about Torah, Mishnah, Talmud and beyond, while parents will review this information, and discuss how their own Jewish experiences can be the sacred texts from which they teach their children.
Families are asked to bring a side-dish, a drink or a desert appropriate for 4-6 people.
